Grimes
Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY born March 17, 1988) who is also known professionally as Grimes, is an Canadian musician, singer, songwriter, and producer of records. [2][3] Her early work was described as moving beyond "lo-fi R&B" to futuristic dance-pop,[4] and has incorporated influences from electronic music hip-hop and rock. Her lyrics often touch on science-fiction themes as well as feminist issues. Grimes has recorded five albums. Grimes was born in Vancouver but moved to Montreal in the year 2000. Grimes started releasing her songs as a solo artist from the mid 2000s. Two albums were released through Arbutus Records in 2010, Geidi Primes, and Halfaxa in the year 2010. Following her contracting with 4AD her popularity grew with fame by releasing Visions, her third album of studio work. Visions features the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion". Also, it was awarded the Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. The fourth album of her studio Art Angels was released in 2015. It received high praise from critics and many newspapers voted for it as the most excellent album. In 2020, she dropped Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Grimes is also a judge in Alter Ego, a music contest. She was a part of Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
